As we know, most highly traded products are monopolized by firms in advanced countries, and they are reluctant to reinvent them. As a result, the progress of many development goals is being impeded. On the other hand, development prescriptions handed over by global lenders and advisers have left less developed countries caught in a no-growth trap.
Hence, what about empowering less developed countries to reinvent mature products, which will open a nature-friendly long wave of growth and help them exit the growth trap?
But how can you explain that your country which is leading in terms of productivity does not well in terms of healthcare, life expectancy and environmental protection as compared with many European countries. It seems that highest productivity is not automatically the magical key to solve all societal problems! Something does not work in your model.
