As someone engaged in the arena of both industry and policy competition between the U.S. and China, I wholeheartedly agree with the insightful perspectives shared in Dr. Atkinson's article. I also believe there is a clear need to establish a structured industrial policy framework, along with training programs and field apprenticeships in targeted industries, to help U.S. policymakers and federal employees gain a deeper understanding of real-world industry dynamics.

I’ve got a stack of books I’d love to add to the syllabus of this masters program and I’d love to read any suggestions. First would be Fasteau and Fletcher’s Industry Policy for the United States. Janeway’s Doing Capitalism in the innovation economy.
